Hello Teams and Volunteers,
This is the fourteenth in the continuing series of Pennsylvania FIRST Robotics emails. Hopefully you received the last email #13 highlighting a how-to guide to understand and navigate Registration Status and Website Search Improvements As always, previous emails can be found on our website in the COMMUNICATION Archives.
As of this today we have 146 Teams that are officially Registered with FIRST Inspires for this 2023-2024 CENTERSTAGE Season. There are 29 Rookie teams that have registered. Thank you to the veteran teams that have successfully promoted and encouraged new teams to join the program.
We have three (3) exciting updates to announce to season schedule.
1. Tartan Scrimmage – a newly added, 24 team scrimmage to provide more play and practice opportunities in the western, PA region, but all state-wide teams’ welcome.
Date: Sunday January 14, 2024 9:00am – 4:00 pm
Venue – Carnegie Mellon University, Cohon University Center
Registration is open for this Team Powered Scrimmage hosted and managed by Girls of Steel Robotics FRC Team 3504, and FTC Teams 9820 Girls of Steel Hypatia, 9821 Girls of Steel Hopper and 9981 Girls of Steel Lovelace.
2. Greyhound Sprint Qualifier – Now open for registration to all teams regardless of waitlist status and residency on a first come, first served basis with 8 open slots! Registration is open for the next 10 days.
Date: Sunday December 17, 2023 7:45 am – 5:00 pm
Venue: York Country Day School
3. Pennsylvania FTC Championship – Will be open for registration to all teams that earn advancement from our 10 Qualifiers. We have secured the following:
Date: Saturday (and potentially Sunday) Mar 16th and 17th
Venue: Saucon Valley Middle School, Hellertown, PA
This is the same venue from the last few years. At this time, we have secured Sat the 16th for sure but may expand to a two-day tournament where teams would arrive at 12:00 Noon on Saturday and we would complete inspections and Judge interviews. On Sunday we would blast through the qualifiers, semi-finals and finals and have a great awards celebration. This will be a 36-team event and we welcome your feedback and comments regarding a 2-day Championship.
Thank you to Bob Svitilla and the FTC teams 18284 Panthera Mu, 19831 Panthera Gamma, 24217 Panthera Psi and, 17334 Panthera Robotica for making this happen!
General Event Registration Information
Prior to registering, please carefully read the Event Participation Policy:
For this season it may be possible for Out-of-State teams to compete in PA, however in our registration process, PA teams are given preference and priority over out-of-state teams. Also, per Game Manual 1 section 6.1 Eligibility for Advancement – Teams are only eligible to advance from events within their Home Region. Teams may choose to compete at Tournaments outside of their Home Region, however, do so for the opportunity of additional gameplay and to compete with other teams from outside of their area. Teams may NOT advance from Tournaments outside of their Home Region.
Please read the Processing Event Registration Requests section and let us know if you have any questions.
Then follow the instructions on our Event Registration page and associated form.
Thank you. We hope your season and teams are progressing well. See you soon.
